Adrian Carl Smith

Adrian Carl “Shabba” Smith, age 39, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring, MD.

Adrian was born on March 21, 1983 in Manchester, Jamaica to Leroy “Johnny” Smith and Elise “Lisa” Carnegie.

Adrian emigrated from Jamaica to the United States in 1996 to live with his father and paternal family members in Maryland. He attended Montgomery Blair High School, and subsequently received his High School Diploma in 2004. Adrian worked for many years as a forklift operator; most of which he spent at Capital Lighting and Supply, Inc. Shabba, as he was affectionately nicknamed by his friends, has left us with fond memories that radiate his enduring sense of love, kindness, unyielding care for others, laughter and joy. In addition to enjoying carnivals and being around the grill, he was always ready to lend a helping hand, listen to or encourage anyone who needed him. His tall stature always lit up any space he occupied and his equally loud laughter would bring profound joy and light.

Adrian is survived by his parents, Leroy and Elise; six siblings, Rolland Smith, Ryan Smith, Peter Davis, Jason Henlon, Courtney Henlon and Rochelle Henlon; beloved grandmother, Evadne Smith; uncles, Mark “Dukie” and Petan; aunts Jenny, Lor and Lorna; niece and nephews; and a host of cousins. He also leaves behind a crew of loving friends that he regarded as family. Family, friends and supporters are invited to his visitation, funeral and interment to grieve, reminisce and comfort each other. See below for details.
