Alton "Rock" Marston, Jr.

Alton “Rock” Marston, 73, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Alton was born on July 20, 1950 in Alexandria, VA. He was the son of the late Alton G. Marston, Sr. & Dorothy Fravel Marston of Maurertown, VA.

He leaves behind his wife Debra “Debbie” Marston and daughter, Ashley Marston of Silver Spring, MD, a sister, Carol Myers of Maurertown, VA, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Burner, brother-in-law, Clayton Myers, niece, Tracey Helmick and nephew, Todd Helmick.

Alton was a graduate of George Washington High School, Alexandria VA, and received his degree in Accounting from James Madison University, Harrisonburg,VA.

Alton worked for U.S. Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, MD for 41 years before retiring in April of 2015. His hobbies were golf, playing Canasta with family & friends, and going to the Casino. He loved old western movies and could sometimes be caught watching Hallmark Christmas Movies.

He was an avid sports fan, and could tell you stats as far back as the 1960s. He loved the Washington teams, Commanders, Nationals, Wizards & Capitals. He was a lover of Yellow Labs, his best girl was Brandi the yellow lab, who we know certainly greeted her daddy in heaven.

Alton will be missed by so many.
