Ann Mary Bordley, 93, of Riderwood Village, Silver Spring, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed from this life on September 5, 2022.
She was born August 16, 1929, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Thomas Comber and Adele Wildes. Ann attended Mount St. Agnes College and taught with the Baltimore City School system before she married the love of her life, Robert Bordley. Ann and Bob were married in 1954 and had four children, whom they raised in Ohio, Maryland and Virginia. In the 1970’s, she returned to teaching at Holy Family School in Hillcrest Heights, MD and at St. Leo the Great School in Fairfax, VA. In retirement at Leisure World, MD, she enjoyed traveling, bridge, duck pin bowling and lawn bowling. She and Bob traveled the world on cruises, visiting Europe, Israel, Alaska, and the Caribbean.
Ann was predeceased by her sister, Rita Adele Comber, Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, and by her husband Robert.
Ann is survived by her brother, Thomas Comber; her sister, Madeleine and her husband, Bud Summers of Sun City, AZ; her four children, Robert (Nancy) of Troy MI, Tom (Rosemary) of Alexandria, VA, Paul (Kathy) of Mentor, OH, and Ann Noreen Bordley of Brooklyn, NY; and her five grandchildren.
Ann's family had strong interests in education with her father, the Chair of the Civil Engineering Department at Johns Hopkins University, her mother an ASCSA fellow and her sister, a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, who taught for almost half a century.
