Ann Leete Hudson

October 6, 1923 — September 10, 2019

On Tuesday, September 10, 2019, Ann Leete Hudson, beloved wife and great mom to three children, passed away.

Ann was born October 6, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA, to Ernest and Selma (Holland) Leete, and grew up in Oaklyn, NJ. She attended Western Maryland College, where she earned her Bachelor of Library Science degree. While working at Maryland Park High School, Ann met the love of her life, and married Charles Lingo Hudson in 1947. Due to Lingo’s avid sports interests, she now had to learn about sports, never really having been interested before! Ann had to learn to love the Orioles and the Maryland Terrapins in particular, and truly became a fan.  Ann and Lingo raised three children, Charlie, Annilin, and Chris.

Ann loved to play bridge, which she played for over sixty years with her best friends. The Hudson clan was known for their rabid love of card games, in which Ann took great pleasure whenever she could beat Lingo.  She was very active in the Maryland Extension Homemakers Club, holding executive office, attending conferences, and making all kinds of crafts, including odd plexiglass fruits that amused her children.  Along with Lingo, she was a heartfelt member of Methodist churches their entire married life. Ann and Lingo also traveled extensively, visiting roughly fifty countries spread over six continents. They took great pride in touring all fifty states during visits to friends and family. Ann adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loved hearing of their adventures, and teasing them. She had a wonderful smile, and made friends easily.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ernest, and sisters Elizabeth and Kathleen. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Lingo, her children Charlie (Jan), Annilin (Peter), and Chris (Eileen), nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Donald (Pauline), Gerald (Sharon), sister-in-law Nancy, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Details of the memorial service will be announced at a later date.
