Anthony William Winfrey, born May 1, 2013, was granted his angel wings on April 15, 2015, following an injury. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Anthony had touched in countless way throughout his short, yet very memorable life. His life would seem too short to many, but those touched by him understood that the quality of his existence far exceeded the quantity of time in which he lived. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though he spoke few words, his voice and thoughts could always be heard. Anthony possessed strength, perseverance, and the ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. His courage led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He spent hours playing with his favorite toys and cuddling close to those he loved so much. He enjoyed music, and playing with his cousin Cynthia. He loved the color red and listening to the sounds of the video “Wheels on the Bus” which would make him smile. Anthony’s passing, reminds others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, especially his crazy faces, he will forever remain in our hearts. Through his teachings about life, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be part of his life. He is survived by his loving mother and father, Kassandra Winfrey and Marshal Morton, Aunts Amanda Winfrey and Rachel Quinton; grandparents John and Gloria Winfrey of Greenbelt Maryland, and Gloria Morton-Jackson, and Ronald Jackson of Beltsville; and cousins Cynthia Quinton of Greenbelt.
