Betty Jean Mack was born to Helen Strother and James Mack on March 21, 1959, in Washington, DC.
Betty was raised in Washington, DC in the Kenilworth and Montana neighborhood. She attended Roper Junior High and graduated from Margaret Murray Washington High School in 1977. Upon graduation, she attended vocational school and worked as a dental assistant for several years. After working in dentistry, Betty worked at the U.S. Department of State for 34 years where she received numerous awards and retired in July 2022.
Betty met Daniel Coley Sr., and they wed on November 13, 1982. They were married for 33 years and from that union they had three children, Daniel Jr., Stephanie, and Antoine. They raised their children in Prince George's County, Maryland.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, cruises, cookouts, and shopping (especially Amazon). She was a Washington Commanders fan, but most recently Betty started to root for the Kansas City Chiefs. She was a big fan of the cartoon character “Betty Boop”. She was a devoted Christian and could be found attending Zion Hill Baptist Church bible study on a weekly basis.
Betty was preceded in death by her father James Mack, her mother Helen Mack, brother Jimmy Mack. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son Daniel Coley Jr. (Tiara), her daughter Stephanie Coley, her son Antoine Coley, her two grandsons Daxton Coley, Dyson Coley, two sisters Toni Mack, Pamela Mack, two brothers Eric Mack and David Mack, and a host of family and friends.
