Bina B Rozario

March 14, 1936 — February 3, 2018

Bina Bernadette Rozario passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the age of 81 in Columbia, Maryland.  In her final moments, she was surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Bina Rozario was born in Bangladesh on March 14, 1936 to Pius and Cecilia Rozario.  She was the eldest daughter in her family of four brothers and two sisters.  She got married at the early age of 14 to her husband of 64 years, the late Mr. Anthony Marian Rozario.  Soon after marriage, she became like a mother to her husband’s younger siblings.  In the mid-1950s, she joined her husband in New Delhi where her eldest three daughters, Rina, Nioti, and Lily were born. After a few years, the family moved back to Bangladesh, where they lived in the family village of Tiria (Bhokto Bari).  Soon after, came her children Khokon, Ratna, Roton, and Lucky.  In 1981, she immigrated to the United States with five of her children and became a long-time resident of Riverdale, Maryland.  Later, her remaining two daughters joined with their families, which completed her dreams of having the family together.  Her home has since been filled with laughter, joy, and good memories.  She always enjoyed the company of family, friends, and neighbors and loved to spend time with her 27 beloved grandchildren.  She was gentle and kind, yet had a feisty side and loved to joke around, especially with her grandchildren.  She enjoyed traveling and visited many places including the Holy- Land in Jerusalem, Italy, France, and India.

In her devotion to her faith, she always brought her family together in prayer.  Her faith in Christ was exemplified with her kind personality demonstrated towards others.  She was a proud member of the Legion of Mary (Maria’r Shena Shongho).  She dedicated her life serving God and the congregation in which she belonged to.

Bina is survived by her seven children and their spouses, twenty-seven grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.  She lived a full, happy life and was constantly surrounded by her ever-growing family.  May her departed soul rest in eternal peace as she is reunited with her husband in God’s heavenly kingdom. She will remain in our hearts forever.

The families of the departed kindly requests everyone to take part in the ‘comfort food’ after interment.
