Bruce Edward Wetherald

Bruce Edward Wetherald went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2024. 

Born on June 12, 1961, Bruce grew up and put down deep roots (or lived almost his entire life),

in Beltsville, Md. He graduated from High Point High School, trained as a draftsman and worked

briefly in the civil engineering industry. He then moved into food service management for several

years before finding his niche in the construction industry. 

During his twenty-plus years in the business, Bruce worked for multiple companies. 

He also ran his own home remodeling company for a number of those years.

Bruce’s great joy was his large and loving, immediate and extended families. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Sonia Ivera Wetherald; 

daughter Erin Sutton and partner Ryan Nagi, and grandchildren Kaleigh, Remington, 

and Joseph Nagi; daughter Ligia Ramirez Cazares and husband Adan, 

and grandchildren Bryan and Yasmin Cazares; son Gerardo Ramirez and wife Rose, 

and grandchildren Layla and Anthony Ramirez; son Hector Ramirez,

and grandchildren Jashua Jabbie and Dominic and Makayla Ramirez; sisters Shirley Slettedahl

and husband John, Eleanor Minor and husband Richie, Pamela Stover and husband Devin,

Cindy Turner and husband David, and brother Holt Wetherald and wife Shirley; 

and a myriad of cousins, nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

When his busy work and family schedules permitted, Bruce enjoyed simple pleasures, with his

love of fishing topping the list. We loved Bruce’s great laugh, his joy of cooking

 (honed by a family of great cooks and entertainers), and his tender and generous heart.

We will miss him.

While our grief is great, we rejoice that he now resides with Jesus in his heavenly home.
