Christine Marie Szewczyk (née Patchan) departed from this earth and into the arms of God on Saturday, June 17, 2023 after a year-long battle with leukemia.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 40 years, Rev. Deacon William, her loving children - Rachel (Wesley), Jacob (Christina), Joseph, and Paul (Lela), and her blithesome granddaughter, Evangeline. She also leaves behind her mother, Kathleen, her siblings - Dr. Nicholas (Alexandra), Jeanine (Michael), Maria, and Dr. Kathleen, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Nicholas, who now greets her warmly into Paradise.
The funeral for Christine will take place at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, June 28th at Saint Gregory of Nyssa Byzantine Catholic Church in Beltsville with internment to follow at Gate of Heaven in Silver Spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mercy Ships in her name. May Christine's memory be eternal!
