In Loving Memory: Daniel Armando Najera
December 11, 1965 - August 15, 2023
On August 15, 2023, our beloved Daniel Armando Najera, born December 11, 1965, in La Ceiba, Honduras, left us to embark on his final journey. Surrounded by the love of his family, he peacefully departed this world in Washington, DC.
A devoted father, Daniel's proudest accomplishment was his three beloved daughters, Kimberly, Cinthia, and Carol Najera. He dedicated his life to nurturing them into strong, educated, and remarkable young women, a testament to his unwavering love and guidance.
Preceded in death by his parents, Hector and Elvira Najera, and his sister Yolanda Giron, Daniel is survived by his four sisters, Mari Elena Morales, Noemi Draper, Norma Najera-Sanchez, Thelma Menjivar, and brother Hector Najera as well as his adored nieces and nephews. His legacy of love and resilience lives on through his close-knit family.
Known for his infectious smile, boundless humor, and ever-present good spirits, Daniel lit up every room he entered. His talent for crafting a mean plate of eggs and beans brought joy to many, while his penchant for telling jokes left everyone around him in laughter.
Daniel's interests spanned from planes and cars to discussing the weather and politics. He shared his knowledge with his daughters, teaching them how to check engine oil and coolant levels – a skill set they'll always carry with them. He cherished moments spent watching TV, cheering on his favorite NFL team, the Giants, sharing laughs, and indulging in his favorite ice cream from McDonald's with his family. Daniel was deeply passionate about soccer and always kept his family informed about upcoming matches and their TV schedules through quick phone calls.
A proud homeowner, Daniel took immense pride in his achievements and never missed an opportunity to express his love for his family. He consistently reminded them of his deep affection, ensuring no day went by without saying, "I love you."
Daniel's legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those he touched. As we bid him farewell, let us remember his zest for life, his laughter, and his unending love. Though he's no longer physically with us, his spirit lives on in the memories we hold dear.
A funeral service will be held to celebrate the beautiful life he lived on Thursday, August 24, at noon at Donald V. Borgwardt Funeral Home, 4400 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville, MD. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 2 pm in Silver Spring, MD.
As we find solace in the memories we've shared, let us hold on to the lessons he taught us – to love wholeheartedly, to find joy in the simple things, and to treasure every moment spent with those we hold dear. Rest in peace, dear Daniel. Your love will forever guide us.
