Doris J. Freaner-Williams

Doris Jean Freaner-Williams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2024 at age 90. She was born on July 19, 1934 in Washington DC to Sherman S. Friend and Flossie C Friend. She most recently resided in Highland, MD.

Doris was a woman of many passions and hobbies. She found joy in dancing, attending dinner theater performances, and singing along to hymns while watching church. However, her greatest loves were going to the beach with all her family and creating cherished memories with her loved ones through get-togethers during the holidays.

Professionally Doris excelled as a deli and bakery manager and found fulfillment in her work. She poured her heart into everything she did and carried a smile everywhere she went. Doris was a fighter, known for her resilience, and held a heart as big as the ocean she adored.

Doris is survived by her sisters Janet Parker and Barbara Murtagh, her daughters Beverly Youhouse, Barbara Kinchen, and Deborah Freaner, and her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Julian Williams, her former first husband Donald Freaner, her children Robert Freaner and Bonnie Breeden, and her sisters Joyce Eisner and Nila Leckliter. Doris will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit, kindness, and determination will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

Friends and family are invited to the Borgwardts Funeral Home at 4400 Powder Mill Rd, Beltsville, MD 20705 on Friday August 16th at 11am to celebrate her life.
