Doris Maxine Myers Padgett, age 88, of Laurel, MD went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. She was greeted in heaven by her sons Wayne and Joseph Padgett, her parents Grady and Effie Myers, and three siblings Joseph Earl Myers, Charlotte Pagans, and Ray Myers.

Doris will be remembered for her sweet and always-present smile and her laughter. She took great pleasure in hosting family get-togethers and attending family reunions and was known for her meticulous preparation of delicious food. She loved playing games with her neighborhood friends and enjoyed many family vacations to the beach and to the mountains of her childhood home in Moneta, Virginia. Doris's faith in God was her rock. She was a committed follower of Christ and loved her church, Beltsville Baptist.

Doris treasured her family and many will cherish her memory. Her sons John Padgett and his wife, Paula, of Owings, Jimmy Padgett of Clarksville, and Glenn Padgett and Shan of Catonsville. Her grandchildren Kristi Padgett, Matthew Padgett, Ashley (James) Norton, Laurie DeMeulenaere, Jessica Padgett, Rachel Padgett, Christopher (Nicole) Padgett, Brittany (Todd) Harmon. Four great-grandchildren: Sami, Alyssa, Noah, and Carleigh. Several special loved ones: Kay, Carol, Kathy, Betty, and Sherry.

Also surviving are her siblings Marshall (Hazel) Myers, Jimmie (Lori) Myers, Dottie Jean (Harry) Nance, Pat (Gerald) Sink, Danny (Anita) Myers, all of Virginia. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends may call BORGWARDT'S FUNERAL HOME, 4400 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville, MD 20705 onSaturday, June 4, 2016, 4-6PM with a service immediately following at Borgwardt's Chapel. A reception and celebration of life will follow at Beltsville Baptist Chutch. Another service will be held at Radford Baptist Church in Moneta, VA at 11AMon Monday, June 6 and burial will follow at the Myers Family Cemetery.
