Evelyn Diane Willey (nee Parsly), our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the age of 79. Diane was born in Takoma Park, Maryland on June 6, 1944. She was the 9th child out of 11 born to Lilian Oneita Parsly (nee Pope) and, Robert Albin Parsly. Diane attended the original Blair High School in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland and, graduated in 1962. During her senior year of high school she worked for a local dentist in Silver Spring and, went on to work for a loan company. On June 6, 1963, Diane married Donald “Donny” Willey, who she was married to for 57 years. She was blessed with 3 boys, Richard “Rusty”, Robert “Robby” and, Raymond “Randy.” She was a dedicated and loving wife and, mother who supported her children in whatever they did. She always attended all their sporting events and, even attended the band concerts. While raising her children, she started babysitting for the families of the Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department to make extra money for trips to Ocean City, bluegrass festivals or other fun family events. She had a true love of children and, could relate to their honesty and, sense of fun. There was never a child that she didn’t make fast friends with. It was the same for adults, she never seemed to meet a stranger. She would accept you and welcome you into her home and life. She loved to attend Sunday family dinners at her mother’s house, family get togethers, playing cards or games just to name a few things. Her life has been filled with love and, family. Her kindness and generosity touched so many. She always had enough love for everyone. Diane is survived by her 3 children, Richard “Rusty” (Tina) Willey, Robert “Robby” (Toni) Willey and, Raymond “Randy” (Missy) Willey, 3 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, 1 sister in law, 1 brother and, many nieces, nephews, cousins and, friends. Diane is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Donald “Donny” Willey, 5 brothers, 3 brothers in law, one sister, 2 sisters in law. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to The Casey House – Montgomery County Hospice (www.montgomeryhospice.org) or, the Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department (www.tpvd.org).
