Gaspare Tirabassi, (89), of Silver Spring, Maryland, succumbed to complications from stage four cancer and pneumonia and passed away on April 3, 2023, surrounded by family.
Gaspare, fondly known as Jaspar, was born to Sante and Elisabetta Tirabassi, on May 29, 1933 in Cocullo, Italy. He immigrated to the United States in 1950. He lied about his age to become a bricklayer apprentice. He won multiple craftsmanship awards and was widely known as one of the best bricklayers in Washington, DC. He went on to become a foreman of some of the most prominent construction projects in the area, including the FBI building. Eventually owning his own masonry contracting company. He enjoyed wine making, gardening and helping his children participate in sports, boy and girl scout activities.
Gaspare is survived by his wife Dolores and three children Egidio, Silvana and John. He is also survived by his granddaughter Lisa Marie. Gaspare was predeceased by his parents, Sante and Elisabetta.
