Adelphi – Gerald “Gerry” Francis Deitzer, 74, passed away in his home on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
Born in Buffalo in June 1942, to Joseph and Marie (Maddock) Deitzer. Gerry earned a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia at Athens and was a member of the faculty in the Plant Sciences Department at the University of Maryland until he retired in 2008.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara (Davidson) Deitzer; his son, Garth Christian, Garth’s wife, Susan, and their two children, Grace Margaret and Frederick Gerald; his brother, James and his wife, Mary Ann, and their children, Jennifer, Kimberly, and Michael, and Michael’s son Matthew.
