Glenn R. White

April 16, 1950 — September 1, 2016

Glenn Roger White was born April 16, 1950 in South Amboy, New Jersey, to Mr. and Mrs. James and Ruth White. He spent his childhood in South Amboy and attended H.G. Hoffman High School. He earned a Bachelors degree from Kean College and a Masters in Biology from Rowan University. Glenn taught science at Monroe Township High School for 10 years and then worked for the Federal Government in various departments.  Most recently, he was a Senior Analyst at the U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement, U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C..

Glenn and Linda met in 1977 through their shared interest in dancing. They became avid ballroom dancers, winning more than 150 trophies and competing professionally in the Harvest Moon Ball at Madison Square Garden, New York City. Glenn and Linda shared their passion for dancing by teaching dance at local dance studios. Their mutual love for adventure and travel led them to spend the majority of their vacation time teaching ballroom dance on cruise ships, dancing their way to exotic destinations all over the world.  Glenn loved making Linda happy and enjoyed planning for each new adventure, so that they always had something to look forward to together.

Glenn and Linda were loving, attentive parents and grandparents. Always the teacher, Glenn delighted in imbuing his grandchildren with a love of knowledge in such things as sports, fishing, and the importance of having a zest for life. Glenn particularly enjoyed sharing in his grandchildren’s wonder as they learned about the world around them. His generous spirit, intelligence, practical nature, humor, warmth, and love will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Glenn and Linda’s first love was their family. Glenn is survived by his sons; Aaron, (daughter-in-law Rachael), Craig, and Ryan, (daughter-in-law Valerie); his grandchildren, Noah, Eve, Abigail and Irene; his brother Roger White, (partner Angie Seavers); his sister, Jamie White Davis; his nephews, Connor and Brett Davis; his brothers-in-law, Steve and Jim Acerra; his sisters-in-law, Mary (Acerra) Zagara and Diane Acerra (partner Jay Strelic).

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, sister Donna and brother, Dennis.
