Harriet Ann Murphy

December 6, 1937 — January 4, 2019

Harriet Gottlick Murphy of Westfield, NJ passed away peacefully at her home in Silver Spring, Maryland on January 4, 2019 at the age of 81.  She is survived by three beloved children William Michael, Janet Marie and Kathleen Anne, three precious grandchildren Alexander, Ashley and Colin, daughter-in-law Maureen Murphy, sons-in-law Keith Zevallos and Michael Consalvi and her brother, Thomas Gottlick and his wife Betty of Arizona.

Harriet graduated from Westfield High School in 1955 and moved shortly thereafter to Washington, D.C. where she went to work as a secretary for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).  She raised her children with Gerald Murphy and later in life she started a second career with the Department of Agriculture.  Harriet enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, knitting/crocheting as well as volunteering in various capacities at Riderwood. She also enjoyed her family trips to Ocean City and Deep Creek Lake.
