ON THE MORNING OF SATURDAY, APRIL 29, 2023, OUR BELOVED FATHER, SON, AND BROTHER HENDRICK NICOLAS WAS CALLED HOME TO BE WITH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AT HIS HOME IN BELTSVILLE, MARYLAND, AT THE AGE OF 47. HENDRICK NICOLAS WAS BORN ON MAY 12, 1975, TO JEAN MICHELE AND YVROSE NICOLAS IN WASHINGTON, DC. HE ATTENDED MONTGOMERY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS. DURING THAT TIME, HE FORGED MANY LASTING FRIENDSHIPS. HE WAS VERY CONNECTED TO HIS HAITIAN ROOTS AND OFTEN HAPPILY RECALLED HIS TIME SPENT THERE AS A CHILD WITH HIS GRANDMOTHER.
HE WAS A LOVER OF SPORTS. THE WASHINGTON WIZARDS WAS HIS FAVORITE HOME TEAM, AND HE HELD SEASON TICKETS FOR SEVERAL YEARS. HENDRICK WAS AN AVID DALLAS COWBOYS FAN AND NEVER MISSED AN OPPORTUNITY TO CHEER THEM ON. HE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED MUSIC AND ART. HE WAS A CHILD AT HEART AND A MASTER WITH HIS HANDS. HE ALSO POSSESSED AN ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT AND USED HIS CREATIVE TALENTS ACCORDINGLY. HE COULD WORK HIS MAGIC WHEN IT CAME TO GRAPHIC DESIGN. HIS HOBBY WAS CREATING PERSONALIZED T-SHIRTS.
HENDRICK LOVED HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND WAS MOST PROUD OF HIS SON GABRIYEL. AS HIS HEALTH RECENTLY DECLINED HIS MOTHER AND FATHER WERE ALWAYS BY HIS SIDE. HIS CONTAGIOUS LAUGH, JOVIAL CHARACTER AND RADIANT SMILE WILL FOREVER BE REMEMBERED BY ALL WHO KNEW AND LOVED HIM DEARLY. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTAL GRANDPARENTS JEAN JOSEPH HERMANN AND MARIE-LEA ODETTE “MANDETTE” NICOLAS, HIS MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS FRANCOISE BOURSIQUOT AND APPOLINE DOMINIQUE BOURSIQUOT. HIS UNCLES GEORGE BOURSIQUOT, TONE BOURSIQUOT, FRANTZ BOURSIQUOT, RAPHAEL NICOLAS, EMMANUEL NICOLAS, ANTONIN NICOLAS, (ADELINE), ERNST NICOLAS, RAYMOND NICOLAS, AND SERGES NICOLAS. LEFT TO TREASURE HIS PRECIOUS MEMORY ARE HIS PARENTS JEAN MICHELE AND YVROSE NICOLAS, HIS SON GABRIYEL HENDRICK NICOLAS, WHOM HE LOVED DEARLY; HIS SISTER EDWIDGE NICOLAS WHOM HE AFFECTIONATELY CALLED DOUDGY; HIS UNCLES JEAN JACQUES BOURSIQUOT; FRITZ NICOLAS (ADRENNE), AND PIERRE NICOLAS (MONA); HIS AUNTS MARIE LOURDES LOYER (PHEDOR), YVON NICOLAS (ELVIR), JOCELYN SEVERIN (GERARD), AND HOST OF COUSINS TO NUMEROUS TO NAME, RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.
