ISABEL MAVIS HASS

Isabel Mavis Hass, 101, of Silver Spring, MD left this life on Monday, March 23, 2020
Mavis was preceded in death by her father and mother, Turner B. and Annie
(Crockett) McPhee, brother Paul McPhee, and her beloved husband of 65 years,
John Hass. Mavis was born in Providence, RI, graduated from Cranston High
School, then completed the business course at Bryant College. She worked in
the insurance field both in Providence and Boston before marrying and raising
her family in Hyattsville, Maryland
Mavis and John loved to travel our country, and spent many vacations driving
and sightseeing. They visited many National Parks and enjoyed all the beautiful
sites in each state. After retirement, they spent many happy years traveling to
Florida for the winter. Their greatest enjoyment was square dancing, as they
were involved with several clubs and traveled to many festivals. Mavis was an
avid Republican and was President of the Hyattsville Women’s’ Republican
Committee for many years She worked at the polls for all the elections. Mavis
had the best memory of anyone in the family, never forgetting anything,
including all the birthdays in her large family. She was a lifelong Redskin Fan
who watched every game possible and knew all the players. She thoroughly
enjoyed watching golf tournaments on weekends and became a CAPS fan in the
last three years! She is survived by her children Robert (Kathleen) Hass and
Karen (Paul) Endress; grandchildren Robert Hass Jr.(Greta), Maggie (Eric)
Finke, Maureen (Drew) Maurano, Katie (Nick) Fullenkamp, Erin (John David)
Ricca, Michael (Kelly) Hass and Lisa (Elaine Schweiger) Endress; and great-
grandchildren Isabella, William, Noella, Emerson, Meghan, Claire, Andrew,
Jocelyn, Sydney, Eliza, Noah, Johnny, Hannah and Julia.
Funeral and graveside services limited to immediate family.
