Janice Browner, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, graced this world with her presence on June 1st, 1953, in Washington D.C. Born to Eula Margaret Scarborough and James Scarborough, she was the third of five children, joining her siblings Brevard, Loretta and followed by Annie, and Norman. From her youthful days of dancing at discos to her passion for cooking, Janice approached life with vibrancy and warmth. A graduate of Eastern High School, she continued her education at the University of D.C. before finding her professional calling at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. There, she dedicated decades of service as a clerk supervisor, a testament to her commitment and work ethic. Beyond her professional life, Janice's heart belonged to her family. Her two children, Brevard and India, were the absolute joy of her existence, followed by her daughter in love Ricci (Brevard), a love that only grew with the arrival of her cherished grandchildren: Brevard Jr., Breya, Jasmine, Nassir, and Zaire. She was the heart of her family, the matriarch who orchestrated joyful Sunday dinners, memorable family vacations, and simple, yet meaningful moments of connection. Janice's love for her family was boundless, and her legacy of warmth and devotion will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, siblings, and the many nieces and nephews who were blessed to know her. She will be reunited with her beloved parents in interment.
