Jennifer Ann Hurlock

November 29, 1945 — February 16, 2025

Our beautiful Jennifer "Jenny" Ann Fitzgerald Hurlock passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, February 16, 2025. She was 79 years old. She was born on November 29, 1945 in Nottingham, England and came to America when she was 8 months old. She grew up in Beltsville, MD and graduated from High Point High School, Class of 1963. Professionally, Jennifer dedicated 38 years to Verizon where she held several positions through the years. Jennifer was very proud of her first home that she bought in Ellicott City, MD in 2003.

Jennifer was a woman of unwavering strength, independence, determination and overcame many obstacles without relying heavily on others and always with a positive and bubbly attitude. Despite her strong independence, she cherished her family and friends, always offering a supportive hand.

Jennifer’s friendships encompassed all aspects of her life and each one was special to her. She loved bowling, luncheons and bus trips with her friends. She always looked forward to these trips. A loving mother who would do anything for her two children, Darlene and Bryan, proud grandmother (Gammies) to Corey and True and three great-grandchildren, Carmella, Rose and Nico. She was also a Memaw to Nicholas and Zoey. Lastly, her beloved cat Sylvester, whom she adopted when her sister Jamie passed away. It was a joy for both her and Sylvester to have each other. Ironically, Jennifer was absolutely fascinated with dragonflies, which carry a deep spiritual meaning of growth and understanding the deeper meaning of life. She even got a dragonfly tattoo on her ankle for her 70th birthday with her sister, Susan.

Jennifer was the oldest of 5 daughters and is survived by her sisters, Pat Neagle and Susan Zook. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, James and Sylvia Fitzgerald and sisters, Sylvia Enes and Jamie Fitzgerald.

Jennifer will be missed so much. She was such a delight to be around, extremely kind and didn’t have a mean bone in her body. This is the legacy that Jennifer left upon all of us.
