Joseph was born on June 15, 1935. In 1953, he graduated from DeMatha Catholic High School where he started his football career and was called "A coach's dream". After high school, he served in the Army for 2 years. He attended college at the University of Maryland where he studied Business and also played football. He married Barbara, his high school sweetheart, in 1953, and they had three children, JoJo, Kathie and Michael.

He returned home and ultimately ran the family business started by his mother and father -- Lasick’s College Inn. He met and married his second wife, Patricia with whom he shared a long and loving relationship. He was passionate about his love of classic cars, his dogs, cooking large meals, and his faith, but above all else, he loved his family.

A reception will be held afterwards at The Original Ledo Restaurant in College Park, MD.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joseph’s life. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to Holy Redeemer Parish of College Park, or to DeMatha Catholic High School's scholarship fund.
