On June 8, 1968 Joyce was united in holy matrimony to Alfred Fowler Sr. who preceded her in death. From this union 4 children were born; Cheryl, Alfred Jr., James (preceded in death) and Shantae. Joyce worked for the federal government located at the Navy Yard for over 25+ years where she retired.
