Livia (Pinto) Foley

Livia Flora Foley of College Park, Maryland, age 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 12, 1927 in Schenectady, New York to Nicholas and Bertha Pinto. She was preceded in death by her brother Armando, and sisters Esther and Doris.

In 1952 Livia married Michael Joseph Foley and had eight wonderful children: Eileen Knieriem (Donald); Sharon Foley; Brian Foley (Terry); Michael Foley ( Cindy); Livia Drescher (Bob); Kevin Foley; Maureen Carter (Brett) and Annette Foley.

She was Grandma Livia to eleven Grandchildren: Jason, Bradley, Rachel, Nick, Bobby, Jimmy, Amy, Kendra, Madison, Melanie and Morgan. In addition she leaves behind six Great Grandchildren: Jack, Simon, Camryn, Ollie, Dutch, Bobbi Jean, Charlie and many nieces and nephews.

She retired in 1998 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She also spent 24 years working at Costco.

Livia always looked forward to her family vacations and just returned from her 20th year of vacationing at Deep Creek Lake. It was a joyous memory for the entire family.

Livia loved singing in the Holy Redeemer Church Choir. She was a member of the Red Hats Society and the Young at Hearts Club. She was an avid Bingo player.

She leaves behind a legacy for the love of the game, Rummikub. She played daily with family and friends.

Livia had great love for all who knew her.
