Marcus Griffin

October 31, 1973 — May 15, 2018

Marcus, as he was lovingly called, was born on October 31st, 1973 in Washington, DC. He passed away suddenly on May 15th, 2018 in St. Mary's County, MD. He resided in Waldorf, MD for many years. He graduated from La Plata High School, where he excelled in his studies.

Marcus worked as a Benefit Services Specialist for for the National League of Postmasters and as a 911 Emergency Response operator for the Office of Unified Communications, District of Columbia. He demonstrated great work ethic and got along well with co-workers. He was commended for his teamwork efforts.

Marcus had a generous spirit, pleasant personality, and a very charming smile. He was loved by many and his positive influence and encouragement towards others will always be remembered. He had a passion for music at an early age. As a teenager, he had a great voice and would lead many songs while singing and having fun with his friends, who he admired. Not surprisingly, later in life, he inspired his sons, who were very special to him, to pursue their musical talents. Marcus also had a wonderful relationship with his sister, and her children who were like his own, and he loved each one very much.

He leaves to cherish his memory, sons Marcus Deangelo Griffin and Deonte Corell Walker-Wright; his mother and step-father Ronald and Cheryl Deedrick; his sister Monica Griffin; two nephews, Casey Griffin and Kyree Earles; two nieces, Ambria and Amari Earles, and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. His father, Theodore Arnold Griffin, preceded him in death.
