Mario Roberto Borroto, also known as Mayi, passed away on December 3, 2023, at the age of 71 in Bel Air, Maryland. He was born on March 5, 1952, in Habana, Cuba. Mayi was a very kind- hearted and family-oriented individual, always caring and loving towards his loved ones. He was a hardworking and passionate person who dedicated himself to ensuring the well-being of his family and friends.

Mayi had a vibrant personality and was known for his contagious laughter. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making friends with everyone he met. He had a knack for fixing and building things and spent his spare time working in his workshop. Mayi's willingness to help others was remarkable, and he would always lend a helping hand whenever he could.

Mayi is survived by his beloved wife, Mariana Damian, his loving daughter Stephanie Borroto, and cherished granddaughter Natalie Aguilar. He is also survived by his sister Lucy Fernandez and Nephews Michael and Steve Vargas, and Manny Fernandez and his great nephews and niece Michael Vargas Jr, Mason, and Miles Vargas, also Stevie and great niece Dalayiah Vargas and his beloved bestfriend, Zoila Hernandez. Mayi was preceded in death by his parents, Roberto and Mirta Borroto.

He pursued a career as a Hospitality Manager from 1994 to 2008.

Mayi had a range of hobbies that brought him joy and fulfillment. He enjoyed being a fixer- upper, watching sports, and working in his workshop. He had a passion for mechanics and was always eager to tinker with machines.

The funeral service for Mayi Borroto will be held at Borgwardt Funeral Home in Beltsvile, MD. The funeral home will assist the family with the arrangements during this difficult time.

Mayi's warm presence and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and dedication to his loved ones will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have shared in his life.
