On Wednesday, January 30, 2019 Nina J McNeal passed away peacefully at her home in Laurel, Maryland, surrounded by loved ones. Loving Mother to Andre McNeal, Christopher McNeal, Walter McNeal, Monique Antwi. Loving Grandmother to Dominique Antwi, Walter McNeal III, Sherri McNeal, Alasiah McNeal, Amirah McNeal, Christal McNeal, Andre McNeal and Andrea McNeal, Christopher McNeal Jr. Great Grandmother to Walter McNeal IV, Peyton McNeal, Gabriel McNeal, Ezekiel McNeal. Loving Godmother to Jewel Brooks, Damon Johnson. Nina leaves behind a host of relatives and friends near and dear to the heart to cherish the wonderful memories of her. Nina was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on February 4, 1940. She graduated from Morristown College High School and completed 2 years of college. After that time Nina devoted 43 years of work as a hardworking and dedicated social worker for mental health for Washington DC Government. Nina consistently started every morning with a cup of coffee, 2 pieces of toast with butter and strawberry jam, and her daily newspaper in hand. And on Sunday’s listening to her sermon was a part of that morning routine and everyone knew during that sermon not to mess with Granms or you were going to get that look for interrupting the sermon. Anyone who had the honor of being a part of Nina’s life knew how much of a joy and inspiration she was. You could always count on her to be supportive and share her life wisdomto help in any way possible. If she was down to her last dollar, you best believe if you needed it she was going to give it to you. That was just the wonderful person she was. For those who are familiar with Nee Nee and her friends, you know how much they loved to travel. All you had to do is tell her where you wanted to go and before you knew it the trip was planned and the flyers were printed and ready to go. If Nina wasn’t spending time with her family, you would find her at her next all-time favorite place to be… The Casino, sitting comfortably at the penny and nickel slot machines. In her spare time Nina also enjoyed reading a good book, cooking those good ole Sunday style dinners and watching some of her favorite TV shows such as Judge Judy, Price is Right, Family Feud and most notably Walker Texas Ranger to name a few. Nina also had a love for baking, making a lot of her desserts from scratch. If you’ve never had one of her famous pound cakes or lemon pie. You’re truly missing out. Those things could sell out like hotcakes. Overall, we have lost one of the best human beings to ever walk the planet. She is the definition of “one of a kind” and anyone that knew her, knew this fact immediately. Rest in peace Granms. You will surely be missed.
