Peacefully and quietly, on Tuesday, May 14th, at 6:30 p.m., our Heavenly Father, in his infinite wisdom, mercy, and grace, closed the eyes of our beloved Patriarch, Paul Felix Rodriguez. He entered into his eternal rest, rejoicing with all of the saints, leaving behind his loved ones to cherish his memory.
Paul Felix Rodriguez was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 13, 1941. He was the son of Pablo Felix and Sally Rebecca Rodriguez. Upon Graduating from West Philadelphia High School, Paul joined the Air Force and became an Airman in 1958. He served his country during the Vietnam War and received decorations, including the Air Force Longevity Service Award. He served in the Air Force Reserves and received his Honorable Discharge in 1963 after serving for six years.
Paul had an incredible way with people and he leveraged this skill while working at Raleigh’s Men’s clothing store and soon worked his way up to becoming their Warehouse Manager. When Raleigh’s closed, he transitioned to a Federal Government position, where he was hired to manage the National Gallery of Art Warehouse, where he oversaw many beautiful pieces of art as they arrived for exhibits. He always shared stories with his family about the exhibits they were preparing to display. He was very proud of the work he did, and he was a well-respected and beloved Manager to his employees. Paul loved going with the American Legion to visit with the elderly Veterans at the Washington DC Veterans Hospital. He accompanied his daughter on several occasions to help with bingo to serve the infirmed Veterans refreshments and hand out canteen booklets as prizes so they could purchase necessities. Last year he received a certificate for 60 years of membership from the American Legion.
Paul loved the Lord and served as a Deacon at the New Dimensions Church in Lanham, MD. He also loved fishing, eating crabs, watching his hometown sports teams the Phillies Baseball team, and his beloved Philadelphia Eagles.
He lost his sister Carole Miles in 2022. Paul leaves behind to mourn his memory his three daughters, Angela, Dana, and Keturah, Son Ronald, Brother -in Law John Miles Son-in-Law Orlando Antigua, his brother Ronald and Sister-in-Law Alice; two granddaughters, Olivia and Jaden, grandson, Jalen, One great granddaughter Ariella, Niece Leslie and her husband Gregory, Niece Aaliyah, and Nephews Kenneth, and Paul and adopted children, Catrice Gray and Mr. and Mrs. Shy.
Rest easy, Paul, and take your deserved rest. We all love you, but God loves you the best.
