Phillip "Dennis" Flora

Dennis Flora of Lanham, MD, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at University of Maryland Shock Trauma with his wife at his side.

Dennis was born in Laurel, MD and raised in Beltsville, MD. He attended and graduated from High Point High School. He loved to sleigh ride with his brothers down Old Garrett hill and work in his parents' garden. In his younger years Dennis also loved to drag race his 69 Nova at 75/80 speedway. Dennis enjoyed building model cars. He started his career at Beltsville Sunoco and worked at Mid-City Chevrolet. He moved on to working at Coca Cola as a truck mechanic for 17 years and then worked at Security Storage where he met his wife, Mary. They were married in April 1992. Dennis and Mary lived in Lanham, MD and just celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary last month. Dennis retired from Security in 2014 after 28 years. Dennis and Mary had not children. They raised 5 dalmatians as their kids.

(Flora) Lanham of Beltsville, MD; husband of Mary Flora of Lanham, MD; brother of Lyndon "Daniel" Flora of Lusby, MD, the late Steve Flora of Beltsville, MD, the late James "Ronnie" Flora of Mechanicsville, MD, and the late Janice M. Musgrove of Gambrills, MD; brother-in-law of Cecilia and Cherie; uncle of his godson, Daniel, nephews, Brian, Charles, Patrick, Kevin, the late Barton Musgrove, nieces, Kim, Lois, Tina, Tracey, Jennifer, Jeaneane, the late Lisa Groom; also survived by Uncle Aubery Pilkerton and Aunt Connie Pilkerton.
