Rodolfo "Rudy" Roberts

Rodolfo “Rudy” Roberts, 79, of Silver Spring, MD passed away at home on April 10, 2024.  Rudy was a loving and faithful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Marta Roberts, and his children Barbara (Marty) Rater, Michael (Holly) Roberts, and George (Christine) Roberts.  He is also survived by his sister Annie (Carlos) Cruz and his cherished grandchildren Caitlin, Cameron, Andrew, Serena, Marlena, and Hope.  He was preceded in death by his parents Wilfrido and Rosa Lydia Roberts.

Rudy was born November 7, 1944 in Santurce, Puerto Rico.  He was a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico and served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he earned several commendations. He received a Masters of Arts at Central Michigan University and upon leaving the military he worked for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, D.C.  He retired in 1998 and spent many wonderful years seeing the world via cruise ships.  In retirement he also served as the Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 7845 in Palm Coast, Florida and rose to the position of Faithful Navigator, Assembly 2264. Rudy will be fondly remembered for his love for music, all types of movies, and good food. More importantly, he will be remembered for his devotion to his family and the wisdom he freely shared with friends, family, and anyone that entered his life.
