Roger William Broseus

Roger William Broseus, former health physicist with the U.S. Public Health Service and volunteer email manager and IT helper at Riderwood Senior Living, died of multiple morbidities at age 80 on August 8, 2023. Roger had lived at Riderwood in White Oak for five years following approximately 40 years near Bethesda, Maryland, where he contributed many years with the National Institutes of Health. Roger was the son of Floyd Eugene and Marjorie Broseus of Ohio. He studied at Ohio State University, New York State University for a masters degree, and Johns Hopkins University for a doctorate. Roger married Isadel La Mar Ricablanca (now deceased). From that marriage Roger has a daughter, Alexandra Ricablanca Vo Duy (Thanh Nam), of New York City. Roger loved Alexandra dearly. In 2001 Roger married Betty Nordan, now of Riderwood. He is also survived by a sister, Ruth Ann Lucas of Grove City, Ohio; brothers Gene of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and Ronnie (Bonnie) of Columbus, Ohio; step-daughter Laura Nordan of Globe, Arizona; step-son Jeff Nordan of Salt Lake City, Utah; and nieces and nephews. Over his life Roger took great pleasure in getting people to laugh. Friends at Riderwood describe him as a joy. He loved English Country Dance and other folk dances and music. Before he developed medical issues, he danced all day and into the night at various dance camps. In retirement he pursued his interests in all things computer and helping others with IT issues.
