Rosemarie Anna Farrera

September 24, 1919 — May 14, 2018

Rosemarie Anna Farrera, 98, died peacefully in her College Park, Maryland home on Monday, May 14.

Born September 24, 1919 in Arolson, Germany to Emma and Wilhelm Klitsch, Rosemarie maintained an active and vibrant life well into her final decade.  A nature lover from her earliest years, she was always drawn to the outdoors and spent much of her leisure time swimming, skiing, and playing tennis.  In 1948, she moved to the United States with her beloved husband, Vincent Joseph Farrera, where they raised their family. She became a valued employee at the National Bank of Washington in Washington D.C. for over thirty years and worked for a College Park law firm until her retirement in 1994.  Her neighbors, friends, and family will remember her as an avid gardener, a welcoming hostess, and an enthusiastic traveler. She enjoyed antiquing and decorating, theater, opera, and classical music. Above all, she was devoted to her family. Rosemarie was pre-deceased by her husband of 45 years, and is survived by her beloved daughters, Christina Farrera and Veronika Rohrscheib (James).  She also leaves to mourn, granddaughters, Elizabeth Rose (George), and Julia Barefoot (Torrey), great grandchildren George, Ellie, Corbin, and Vince, as well as nieces and nephews from the Schenkel, Lyncker, Schultes, Klitsch, and Budelman families.

Rosemarie’s life will be celebrated and remembered in a memorial service on July 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Borgwardt Funeral Home in Beltsville, MD.
