Samuel Macharia Mwinga was an extraordinary young man whose warmth and kindness touched everyone he met. His vibrant, outgoing nature and genuine care extended not only to his family but also to friends and even strangers. He left an indelible mark on our lives, and we pray that his compassionate spirit continues to live on through the legacy he built. BIRTH & EARLY LIFE
Samuel Macharia Mwinga was born on May 3, 1990, to Julius Mwinga Babu and Esther Wangari Mwinga in Nairobi, Kenya. As the youngest in the family, Samuel was cherished deeply, basking in the boundless love and affection of his parents and siblings. His position as the last born brought a special joy to the family, creating memories filled with warmth and laughter.
EDUCATION
Samuel Macharia Mwinga began his education journey at Juja Road Primary School before proceeding to Utumishi Academy. He later attended Muvuti High School in Machakos County up to Form Two, after which he transferred to Jamhuri High School in Nairobi, where he successfully completed his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations.
Pursuing his passion for media, Samuel enrolled at the East African School of Media Studies, where he excelled and earned a diploma in media studies. In 2012, at just 22 years old, Samuel showcased his entrepreneurial spirit by founding his own media company, Screen Factory Media, which provided videography and photography services to a wide range of clients.
Samuel’s thirst for knowledge and professional growth led him to earn his CompTIA A+ certification in Maryland. This achievement laid a strong foundation for his career in Information Technology, further demonstrating his dedication and versatility in his professional pursuits.
LIFE AS A CHRISTIAN
Samuel Macharia Mwinga was a devoted follower of Christ whose faith shaped every aspect of his life. From a young age, he was an active churchgoer, attending Chrisco Church before later joining Deliverance Church Kahawa West. It was there that he founded a dance group called Saintz, which flourished under his visionary leadership. The group achieved remarkable success, earning first-place accolades in both the Groove Awards and Talent Mania Awards. Samuel’s passion for worship and creativity extended beyond dance; he also contributed his talents to Kenyan Urban Christian Gospel songs such as 'Dance-Bupe' and 'Mmm Baba,' leaving an enduring mark on the gospel music scene.
Samuel Macharia Mwinga was a prophet who wholeheartedly embraced his calling, leading countless individuals to experience the glory of the Lord. His unwavering commitment to God’s Kingdom left an eternal mark, and his legacy of faith, compassion, and service remains a source of inspiration for all who knew him. Samuel exemplified deep trust in God’s perfect plan, showcasing humility as a leader and a love that knew no bounds. In the midst of sorrow, there is solace in the hope found in Christ and the certainty that Samuel’s influence will resonate through generations.
FAMILY LIFE
Samuel Macharia Mwinga was the beloved son of Julius Mwinga Babu and Esther Mwinga, and the stepson of Inutu Mwinga. He was a cherished son-in-law to Kevin Mukora Nduru and Priscilla Mukora. Samuel was a devoted husband to Emily Wambui and a loving father to their two children, Neema and Mufari Macharia.
He was a brother to Stephen Babu, Paul Maina, Wilson Gachau, and Alice Muthoni, as well as a stepbrother to Michael Siwale, Aisha Wangari, and Selina Iyana.
Samuel’s love story with Emily began when they met at a wedding in Mombasa. The connection they shared blossomed, and they were married in January 2016. Together, they were blessed to nurture and raise their two beautiful children, Neema and Mufari. Their union, filled with love and devotion, lasted nearly a decade, leaving behind cherished memories of their time together.
CALL TO GLORY
Samuel was admitted to the hospital the week before Christmas, facing a series of unforeseen health challenges. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he tragically succumbed to these complications on December 31, 2024.

FUNERAL
Samuel will be laid to rest at Norbeck Memorial Park at 16225 Batchellors Forest Rd, Olney, MD 20832 on January 17th, 2025. The chapel service begins at 10am EST followed by the burial at 12pm EST at the same location.
