Shirley F. Lee August 6, 1932 - September 15, 2023

Shirley F. Lee, 91, of Columbia, MD, formerly of College Park, passed away Friday, September 15, at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living.

She was born in Colver, PA, the daughter of the late Harvey and Mary (Hommer) Figard. Shirley married Robert Lee on June 27, 1953. He preceded her in death on December 27, 2003.

Shirley is survived by her daughters Lorrie Lauer (Richard) of Columbia, Barbara “Bobbie” Lee (Richard Burns) of Beltsville, and one granddaughter, Shanna Dodge (Todd Dively) of Shady Side, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her eight siblings.

Shirley was a graduate of Mt. Ranier High School.

She was employed by the Federal Government and retired from the Department of Agriculture after 30 years of service.

She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Greenbelt where she also participated in the operation of the church thrift store and other outreach programs. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In her spare time Shirley enjoyed crocheting and crafting.

Family and friends will be received at 10 am on Monday, September 25, at The Donald V. Borgwardt Funeral Home, 4400 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville, MD., where a funeral service will be held at 12 pm. Committal will be held at Fort Lincoln Cemetery following the service.
