Sigfredo Margarejo Rada, Sr.

Sigfredo M. Rada, Sr. was born in Lopez, Quezon Province, Philippines on December 23, 1933 to Porferio & Eladia Rada. He is the eldest among nine children; Sigfredo, Ephraim(deceased), Eliezer, Hanamel, Redeem, Gideon, Eva (deceased), Israel and Nesse. He passed away on December 29, 2019, with his family by his side at Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center. Fred graduated from Philippine Union College with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He was then called to teach Bible, Pilipino, Vocational subjects, carpentry, manage the poultry and farm at East Visayan Academy and later on became the principal. He was ordained as a minister of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church while teaching at the school. After 17 years of teaching he was asked to be the Educational/Health & Temperance Director at Central Visayan Mission. After a couple of years he was appointed to be the Educational/Health & Temperance Director of Central Philippine Union Mission (CPUM). In 1977 he was sponsored by CPUM to do his Masters in Administration and Supervision at
Philippine Union College after which he was asked to be the Development Director of Central Philippine Adventist College.

In March of 1987, Fred and his wife Loida migrated to the United States. He worked for Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church at Takoma Park for 10 years. In December, 1998 he retired. He worked for the SDA denomination for 40 years. Fred loves to go fishing with his kids and grandchildren, gardening and playing tennis. He also loves to tell people about Jesus and His undying love for each one of us wherever he is or whatever his situation is. Fred is survived by his wife Loida, sons Fred Jr., wife Junelyn, & Raymond, wife Erlyn and daughter Evangeline. He has six grandchildren, Matthew, Raier, Ivan, Julian, Christina & Raylyn and a host of family and friends.
