Stella Grover Johnson, 90, of Beltsville Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, February 8th 2017.
Born August 3rd, 1926 in Stoneham, Maine, she was one of six siblings born to the late John and Sarah Grover.
Raised on a farm in Stoneham Maine she moved to Washington, D.C. during World War 2 to work for the Federal Government. It was there she met and married the late Narven Lee Johnson. She later worked as a cashier at Giant Food, mostly in Calverton Maryland, until she retired. She was an avid baseball fan and loved watching and listening to the Baltimore Orioles games.
She is survived by her three children, son John Johnson and his wife Tina of Belcamp, Md., daughter Johnette Mallick of Mt. Airy, Md, and son Douglas Johnson and wife Barbara of Fairfax, Va.; also a sister Harriet Brown and a brother, Lyndon Grover, of Norway, Me. She was also the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren Richard, Dennis and Jennifer Mallick; Melissa Durst, Kelley, Stephanie and Brian Johnson, and seven great grandchildren Thereesa, Caitlin, Michael, Amir and Jessica Mallick; Abigail and Jameson Durst.
