Theresa J Sefcik

August 7, 1934 — October 28, 2020

Theresa J. Sefcik stepped into glory on the evening of October 28, 2020, after 86 years of life. The family is very thankful to the Lord that all 5 of her children were able to visit with their mother in the hospital and say their goodbyes and that her husband Anthony was allowed to stay by his wife's side until she passed.

Theresa was first and foremost a homemaker, at which she excelled.  She also once worked at various organizations outside the home including the FBI and The Sentinel newspaper.  She was involved in the College Park Boys and Girls club for many years serving in various volunteer positions as her children and others in the neighborhood developed a love for sports.  Some of her favorite activities were attending Bible Studies and praying the Rosary.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Anthony Sefcik, and 5 children: Lawrence Sefcik (Delfina), David Sefcik (Donna), Connie Key (Johnny), Janine Dolinka (Tim), and Marcia Gottesman (Seth).  She was a loving and caring grandmother to 13 grandchildren: (Joshua, Elijah, Saraphina), (Kyle, Nicholas, Kalynn), (Daniel, Samantha, Brian), (Kendra, Jared), (Carrie, and Tyler).  She was a proud great-grandmother to (Jace, Carter), (Camden, Violet, and Noella).

Theresa was pre-deceased by her four sisters, Bertha Zuber, Helen Richards, Stella Steslow, and Florence Piaskowski and a brother, Charles Bralczyk.

Please pray for God’s comfort and peace for the whole extended family as they grieve this sudden loss of their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 3 - Viewing at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 4902 Berwyn Road, College Park, MD at 10:00AM followed by a eulogy, then a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM.
