Theresa Gloria (Ferrari) Smith

Theresa Gloria (Ferrari) Smith, 95, died on September 14, 2023, at Casey House in Rockville, Maryland after a short illness.

Theresa was born on May 7, 1928 in Washington, D.C. to immigrants from Italy.

She is predeceased in death by her husband, Hoyt M. Smith, her brother, Giacoma B. Ferrari, her son, Michael A. Vaniglio, and stepsons Jerry Smith and Steven Smith. Her first marriage, that produced four children ended in divorce. She married a second time to Hoyt M Smith.

She was a devout catholic, who was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beltsville, Maryland. She was an excellent homemaker who loved to cook and entertain. She also enjoyed traveling, opera, the theatre, old movies, bingo and going to the casino.

Theresa had many friends, a number of them were lifelong friends. Everyone loved her and she loved them.

Survivors include two daughters Deborah Vaniglio Down (Jim), Vicki Vaniglio (Duane), one son, Marc Vaniglio (Debbie). 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
