William J Daugherty

March 15, 1956 — January 19, 2025

William Joseph Daugherty of College Park, MD, passed away suddenly on Sunday,

January 19th. Bill, as most knew him, was born March 15th ,1956 to the late Edward

Maxwell Daugherty, Sr. and the late Katherine Puffenbarger Daugherty.

Bill was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend (and all things Corvette).

Bill spent his entire 40+ year career working at Giant Food, Local 730.

He was a member of the USAF Civil Air Patrol Wheaton-Silver Spring Squadron.

Bill was a well-known fixture at College Park United Methodist Church, which he loved.

Many have run into him at one of the many car shows he would go to whether as participant, judge

or just as a fan. After retirement, Bill became an official Member of Meals on Wheels,

and was also a Volunteer at our local food bank.

His life centered around those that he loved and cared for (including his 4-legged family).

Many have said that Bill was one of the kindest men they knew,

that he loved his Corvette and that he was the King of Halloween and Christmas decorating.

His family is proud of a life well lived.

Bill is survived by his wife Marsha, son Christopher, daughter-in-law Marilyn, and

siblings Maxine Elbon, Edward Daugherty, Keith Butch Daugherty, Denise Daugherty

and Dennis Lee Daugherty. He also was an uncle and great uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels of College Park or The
