William "Bill" E. Mitchell

On Tuesday, October 3, 2023, William Earl Mitchell, (aka Bill, Willie & Mitch) age 82, of Severn MD, went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was surrounded by his family at the Dove House in Westminster. He was born on December 19, 1940, in Wellington TX, to the late James Edwin Mitchell and Lenora Mae Mitchell. Bill was the loving husband of 58 years to Jean Clara Mitchell. He graduated from Amarillo High School in TX and went on to serve in the United States Army at Fort Myers VA. He worked for Marriott Corporation for several years and then went on to have a long career as an auditor for the Federal Government. Bill was a man of faith. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Beltsville MD where he loved devoting many hours of service, including setting up for Destination Sabbath School and singing in the church choir. He enjoyed playing golf and watching various sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them all. He had lots of nieces and nephews out west that he missed very much and spoke to them on the phone often. Surviving in addition to his wife are his half-brothers Steve and Michael Mitchell, his daughter and son-in-law Kim and Mike Johnston of Eldersburg MD, son and daughter-in-law Rick and Carol Mitchell of Owings MD, son and daughter-in-law Bryan and Brittany Mitchell of Forest Hill MD. He was a loving "Grandpop" to his grandchildren Jenna Nicole, Austin Tyler, Brandon Lee, Leah Marie, Hannah Elise, Landon Michael and great-grandchild Mitchell Robert. He is preceded in death by his sisters Gladys Rogers and Wanda Goolsby, brother Charles Mitchell, niece Sissy and nephew Randy Rogers.
