On Monday, July 29, 2019, William "Pete" Muller III, a loving husband and devoted Firefighter passed unexpectedly at the age of 68.
Pete was born in Wilmington, Delaware to William and Ellen Muller. He graduated from High Point High School, class of 1968 and attended Montgomery Community College.
Pete became active as volunteer at Branchville Fire Department and transferred to Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department. In December of 1970 Pete was drafted into the U.S. Army. After two years of service, he returned to P.G. County as a paid Firefighter. He rose to the rank of Battalion Chief and retired in January 1995. Pete was proud to be known as a professional P.G. Firefighter.
In September of 1980 Pete fell in love with a nurse named Linda Gail Sanner, whom he married in September 1982.
Linda and Pete enjoyed many years of travel together. Pete also enjoyed playing tour guide to his sister-in-law and his nieces and nephews.
Pete enjoyed being a member of the University of Maryland Terrapin Club for 36 years. He was a fan of the New York Yankees and the Washington Redskins.
Pete enjoyed playing men's softball for many years. Although he was an only child, Pete felt blessed that he had so many softball and firefighter brothers.
He is survived by his wife Linda, sister-in-law Carolyn Livingston, numerous nieces and nephews and boatloads of friends of all over the world.
