W.J. "Jr" Crowell, Jr.

JR a retired DC DOT Civil Engineer died June 25, 2021 at his home. He was born October 22,1947 in Washington, DC to Wilson Jennings Crowell, Sr. and Gertrude Virginia (Hendley) Crowell Foust who preceded him in death.

He was a US Army veteran SP4 (T) Engineer serving in Germany during the Vietnam war. He enjoyed sports including ice hockey, NASCAR racing, Redskins football, Orioles baseball, and in his younger years played softball and went golfing with his boys along with country music and scratch off Lottery tickets.

He is survived by his loving wife, the former Jane Maria (Ray) Crowell; children; Laurie Metzler, Robert (Angie) Crowell, and Michael (Beth) Crowell; grandchildren, Lindsey, Logan, Lucas, Mackenzie, Dylan, Kenny, and Amanda; brother Joe Crowell, sister Janice Pearson of Virginia and Barbara Houser of Hawaii; sister-in-laws Janet Pyle, Judy Ray, Julia Dunton, Jennifer Shields, and June McGraw; and cousin Gladys Snelson. JR had numerous cousins and great grandchildren.
